The Office of Intellectual Property and Economic Development is a department within the Division of Research and Economic Development and reports to the Vice President for Research and Economic Development. The role of the office includes the interpretation and implementation of the URI Intellectual Property Policy approved by the URI Board of Trustees on November 5, 2021.
We work hand-in-hand with the URI Research Foundation which complements our mission for technology transfer, commercialization, and partnering with industry collaborators.
